This stylish converted farmhouse was renovated and fully modernised in 2008 to be used as a holiday home for up to ten persons. The house is situated in the countryside just outside little village De Zilk, along the road to the beach and the natural reserve of the Waterleiding dunes. The environment is of course perfectly fit for a beach holiday, but there are lots of other possibilities to walk, cycle and visit interesting places.
In front of the house is a cosy terrace under the trees and, in accordance with the style of the house, your own private pétanque court. You enter the house through the hall and then have access to the bright and spacious living room. This room is stylishly furnished and has a very comfortable sitting area around the gas operated fireplace and there are three folding doors to the garden. Two steps up is the modern and luxuriously fitted dining kitchen, where you enjoy the comfort of all possible equipment and a large wooden dining table for ten.
The folding doors give access to the Mediterranean upper terrace. Theres a large dining table here as well and the possibility to sit outside, for instance around the fire place
Just outside the walled terrace theres the outdoor sauna with a shower and a wide lawn with a sheltered terrace in the back.
The large and luxurious bathroom is on the ground floor as well. Here a kingsize bath, a walk in shower, a lovely double washing basin and the floor heating give you the feeling there's nothing to wish for.
Finally, the wine cellar offers you a fine selection of quality wines the owner collected for you. You can taste them and enjoy them during your stay, just settle the bill with the owner when you leave
All bedrooms are on the first floor that you can reach by two separated stairways. Both front and back part of the house have two bedrooms, in total two double and two triple rooms. All beds are comfortable boxspring mattresses.
House De Ruigenhoek is characterized by its unique location with plenty of space and privacy. Apart from that the house is finished with beautiful natural materials that put together the wonderful atmosphere.
You live in the rural area, overlooking the green acres and flower bulb fields, but you're very close to a natural reserve area too and of course the beach is just a few minutes away. The closest shops are in De Zilk (supermarket) and Noordwijkerhout, Hillegom and Lisse. The world famous flower exhibition Keukenhof (open from March to May) is at five minutes distance and a 'must see' in springtime. Noordwijk is nearby, as are interesting historical cities like Leyden, Haarlem, Amsterdam and The Hague.
