Sondel’s surrounding area is very varied. The woody and water rich character, the many villages and towns which are within close proximity and the extensive cultural historic places of interest, the various museums, golf course, etc, all offer everything you could ever want for a varied and exciting stay. The area is ultimately suitable for a fantastic bike ride and/or walk as a result of the alternating landscapes with forests, meadows and water. A beautiful region with forests, cycle paths along the many small farms, the varied Zuidwesthoek landscapes, the hilly wooded landscape, the small villages and hamlets in and against the hilly forest area. The beautiful views across the slanted meadows with the Ijsselmeer coastline in the background. The beaches at Lemmer, Oudemirdum, Mirns etc, the Rijsterbos, the Bremerwildernis, Hege Gersen, Wyldemerk, Sondelerleien, we could go on. The most fantastic nature area and the most beautiful National Landscape in the Netherlands. Unknown to most Dutch people and therefore also undiscovered.
