Ballum is located on the western half of the island of Ameland, one of the West Frisian Islands and part of the Netherlands.
Home to only 350 people, Ballum is the smallest village on Ameland, and was the residence of the Cammingha family, the former lords of the island, in the 15th century. There are many facilities for children.
It is also the place of the municipal hall of Ameland.
