Review of The Lake House
|Family b Bolton, August 2013|
We had a fabulous time staying at the Lake House we were a group of 3 adults and 3 children all of us had so much space both inside and outside the property. The situation is outstanding looking straight out onto the lake on both sides of the house. We had fun using the bikes everyday, rowing out on the lake, swimming and exploring. Sad to leave.

The house was beautifully located and well equipped with all home comforts and conveniences. Thank you for a wonderful holiday - we were very sad to leave and would have liked to spend another week there.

Amsterdam is one of the "greatest small cities" in the world. From its canals to world-famous museums and historical sights, Amsterdam is one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe.
Amsterdam is also a city of tolerance and diversity. It has all the advantages of a big city: culture, nightlife, international restaurants, good transport - but is quiet, and largely thanks to its canals, has a little road traffic. In Amsterdam your destination is never far away, but get a bike for most authentic experience.
The village of Uitdam lies along a sea dyke called the 'Waterlandse Zeedijk' and is close to the 'Uitdammer Die'. Only about 170 people live here. The village is easily accessible by road and by water; you can just moor your boat at the harbour.
This area, called 'Waterland' is very popular for its water sports but there are also lots of other things to do. For instance did you know there are 381 monuments here? Many of them have interesting stories behind them and secrets to tell from bygone days. Monnickendam, Marken and Broek in Waterland are picturesque villages, and well worth a visit.
This area has a number of areas of natural beauty and is perfect for nature lovers. You can go cycling, walking or canoeing, while enjoying the birds sing and the trees waving in the breeze.

Amsterdam is often referred to as one of the most colourful cities in the world. How about a canal tour, a visit to one of the countless museums, some relaxation in Amsterdam's green jewel the 'Hortus' or a visit to the Heineken Experience? See the largest collection of Vincent van Gogh's paintings in the world, travel between fantasy and reality in NEMO Amsterdam. On top of the well-known highlights like the Van Gogh Museum or Madame Tussauds, the dutch capital offers many smaller, well-hidden treasures. Aan Zee holiday homes rents out ca. 20 holiday houses and cottages in Amsterdam.
